Christmas Market: Spreading Holiday Cheers (2024)

At the start of 2024, Dynamic Donation Organization organized a vibrant Christmas market, brimming with festive cheer, to raise funds for their upcoming donations to a local elementary school located in Guizhou province of China (贵州三园小学). The market became a bustling hub of activity, offering a wide array of delightful treats, handmade crafts, and joyful entertainment, all in support of their mission to make a positive impact to the community.

It's the time of year! As the Christmas season approaches, Dynamic Donation Organization (DDO) has also brought its innovation and Christmas vibes into our 8th-grade family. The purpose of this event is to gather funds to purchase soccer equipments for underprivileged children in Guizhou province. Members of DDO actively promoted the event to the whole secondary ranging from 6 to 10th graders in SHSID (Shanghai High School International Division). DDO organized a captivating Christmas lucky draw, offering participants the chance to revel in the thrill, joy, and merriment of the most wonderful time of the year.

However, this seemingly successful event required much effort given by the volunteers of DDO. They worked countless hours designing posters, choosing prizes, taping cups, and finalizing everything. Although the entire process was extremely rushed due to time constraints, the members’ hard work paid off as the event unfolded. On the day of the draw, over 80 students came to attend the activity. With festive music playing and happy students crowding, the atmosphere was flooding with joy! Within 40 minutes, the lucky draw table was empty, and they had sold out, with a whopping income of over a thousand yuan.

In conclusion, not only was this activity entertaining for students in SHSID, and enjoyable for its members to host, but it was also very beneficial to the school they are helping. A few days after Christmas, we received many photos and thanks from our recipient school. The heart-warming smiles on the children’s faces were priceless and made all of our efforts worth it.

随着圣诞节和元旦的来临，我们 Dynamic Donation Organization 社会服务性社团将创新理念和节日氛围带入了我们八年级的大家庭。我们的主要目标是帮助地处偏僻农村的贵州三元小学。在十月份的初中部书籍捐赠活动之后，我们再次发起了一项名为“送温暖、助运动”的捐助活动。贵州三元小学急需足球运动器材和装备，而随着天气逐渐转冷，孩子们也需要保暖的冬衣。与此同时，同学们希望在这个美好的节日里能够体验到欢乐。因此，DDO的学生领导们精心策划了圣诞慈善幸运大抽奖活动。

为了确保活动成功，成员们全力以赴，分工明确，充分利用每一分每一秒，付出了大量的努力。我们制作了两个版本的海报，利用晨会课进入六、七、八年级进行宣传，仔细筛选并购买了各种奖品。同时，我们还亲自动手制作了抽奖用的杯子和纸条，并准备了抽奖当天的音响设备和圣诞装饰品等。最终，在短短两周的时间里，我们成功举办了慈善抽奖活动！现场充满了热情的音乐和丰富的奖品，人群中充满了欢声笑语。抽奖台前人潮涌动，欢乐的气氛弥漫在整个活动中。令人惊喜的是，不到40分钟，所有的奖品就被一抢而空，一二三等奖都有了得主。

这次活动一共募集了一千多元的善款。我们将把这些善款全部用于购买足球用品，并已经采购了足球袜、护腿板、训练绳梯、弹力带、门将手套等必需品。此外，我们还将为小运动员们定制足球服，让他们在足球场上更加自信地展现自己的风采！

令我们欣喜的是，就在期末考试前，我们收到了来自三元小学的反馈和感谢。孩子们穿上了大家捐赠的冬衣，笑容灿烂如花，那份纯洁和美好让我们所有DDO的志愿者倍感欣慰。这份礼物胜过千言万语，对我们来说是无价的馈赠，更是对我们无私奉献和辛勤付出的最高褒奖。同时，这也是对上海中学国际部充满爱心的老师和同学们最好的感谢和肯定！这份爱与关怀将永远留在孩子们的心中，成为他们人生中最温暖的回忆。
